I was a Huey pilot with A Trp 2/17 Cav 101 Abn Div from May 70 -71.  Our call sign was Assault.  I was Assault 49.  The Lift pilots were in the 40's, guns in the 20's and scouts teens.  Command and support were single digits.  We operated out of Quang Tri and were the first unit to re-open Khesahn for the Laos incursion.  Those were really exciting times.

During the little side trip into Laos for Lam Son 719, they changed our call sign to Oxhorn for security reasons???  I guess the NVA were supposed to be confused?????
