AFSC A301X2 AEW & C Radar Tech better known as a jack of all trades once wheels hit the wells. Official equipment we repaired
APS-95 Search Radar (Lower Radome)
APS-45 or 103 (Upper Radome)
IP-462 or 719 Radar Scopes (7 Scopes)
AJA-2 Gyro
APA-56 Scope and O-15 Camera
APX-49/83 IFF Systems & GPA-122 (5 Positions)
APA-?? Ground Position Indicator
Later 121T models had
APX-84 and APX-85 EIFF Systems to interrogate Soviet IFF Systems
QRC-248 EIFF for Mig 21 and 19
KY-8's
When Airborne The Radar Tech worked on it if it was electrical. Ovens, radios, auto pilot, etc. On the ground we pumped fuel, helped engine mechenics, stood fire guard wingwalked whatever. In Iceland we swept snow off wings.
Most radar techs were very adept at repairs, as all aborts for your own equip. was a great loss of pride.
