Larry,

My AFSC was 42151B which was turbo-propeller mechanic. The only Turbo-Props
were OV-10's, everything else at NKP was an 42151A which were Recip-Prop.
mechanics. While I was at NKP in May 70 to 71 the Air Force eliminated the
suffix of each and we just became Propeller Mechanics of the 56 FMS. I ended
up working on any type of aircraft with a propeller. I was assigned to the
23rd TASS when they went TDY, and I think your AFSC did not matter, for we
all help re-fuel, load rockets, wash and clean the aircraft, sent aircraft
off on their missions and helped receive them when their returned. I will
always remember how we worked together as a single unit no matter what our
AFSC were. I helped jet mechanics and they helped me. I think back about the
times I shared with those guys and I would do it all over again in a minute
if I was asked to return. It is like the brotherhood and that is exactly
what we were and still are.
