You can add me as a "Rotorhead" too, along with Russ and Bill. hehehe. My
job description was the same as theirs. The only thing I might add to mine
as a instructor flight engineer. Was that I also did training on the
helicopter systems and for hoist, gunnery, weight & balance, sling,
loadmaster duties and just about anything else involving helicopter duties.
As an instructor (IFE), I usually flew the (FCF's) Functional Check Flights.
I also gave check rides to my fellow flight engineers (mechanics). My
secondary was 431X0 (Jet Engine Mechanic). The Flight Engineer rating
initially had a AFSC of A431X0C Helicopter flight mechanic. The Flight
Engineer AFSC (A113X0C) was assigned to us in 1972-73.
