Well, another fine NW event has come to a close.  For those "not" in attendance, you missed a 'goodun'!!!  Yes, it was that time of the year again for the revival of the "Mini at Maxey's", part Tres.

Rolling in from the north was Phyllis and Yrral Hughes.  For her first Maxey's experience, all the way from the "island" itself... of Manhattan, was Wendy Liles.  For their first TLCB mini of any kind...  First, from beautiful downtown Parkland, WA (and you thought Burbank was bad????), is a member who we thought was not a member, Charlie "Chickenlips" Chiglinsky.  Ironic, all this time, and he only lives 5 minutes from me.  And from the "other" Vancouver, Charlie "VA" Porter, who was "fashionably late"... is that the norm with you Charlie???? LOL

We were all enthralled in listening to Wendy.  She shared with us pictures of her beautiful family; especially older pictures and experiences of her dad, Major Liles, who use to fly "Spectre".  The pictures and patches of her dad caught all of our attention intently.  But when she strolled in, one could easily deduce, that this woman was NOT a resident of Puget Sound.  Her fantastic tan and bright lime colored top drew everyone's eyes as if a magnetic affect took over.  But I think she'll know that if she goes somewhere where there is a "transplanted" New Yorker, she better bring the bagels!!!!!!!

Charlie shared with us an old copy he had of the Bangkok Post, dated 28 Sep 75.  Being in English, this version made more sense as everyone was interested in what the different stories were about then.  He had receipts, too, from different "establishments".  Hey Charlie, the "warranties" ran out bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL  Charlie had some great "insights" and guidelines about VA claims, and some of our party were taking "careful notes".

Joe shared with us the fact that he had buddies in that fateful crash of the F4 into the AFTN hut at Udorn.  Joe, is a buddy of Norm Corley (Greece), and both in the same AFSC of working in the media that brought us the music and news over the air waves while we sweated our butts off under the Asian sun.  Being stationed at NKP, Joe had 'older' pics of Father Kai (sp?) and the Thare Orphanage.  Hopefully, these WILL be up on the TLCB web very shortly; right Larry?

Phyllis and Yrral brought some more goodies to share with all of us... a very gracious thing on their part.  These two fine people are "more than wanting to give" when it comes to the Brotherhood and Sisterhood.  Everytime I sit and listen to Larry, I learn something new.  I'm proud to call him a friend.

Ah yes, the SOS was the epicurean delight as we all expected.  Linda, our waitress, made sure we had our cups filled with coffee, and did a great job of putting up with our "loud, bovine-excrement".  Needless to say, she's in a partying mood after the generous tip we endowed upon her.  Sorry, "JP4", no Singha moments at this event.

Upon each person's departure, I gave them some "Mango Salsa" to take home.  I dare not give it to them there, for them to consume.... I didn't want to get hit, nor be liable for the damages (if they found the "sauce" was toooooooooo hot).  But in all honesty, it was "mild to semi-mild", not hot.  But that's only "moi's" opinion.

Another Maxey's sits in our minds now.  It was indeed a pleasure to see those that I've met before.. Wendy, Phyllis and Larry.  And for my first time in meeting Charlie and Joe, it was an honor in meeting new Brothers for the first time.  We have to help Joe get caught up to date on TLCB stuff, as he changed puters and lost a lot of vital info that was previously transmitted.  Hopefully by the end of the year, we shall gather again for some more comraderie up here in the great NW.

Shalom Y'All,
In Brotherhood..............         Bzaza
